An insider’s guide to Australia’s largest clean and renewable energy event.
Thousands of clean and renewable industry experts are expected to attend this year’s All-Energy Australia Exhibition and Conference, taking place in Melbourne from 4 – 5 October 2016. With the free-to-attend event just around the corner, we spoke with the All-Energy Australia team to glean some of the 2016 highlights.
EARN CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT POINTS
The Clean Energy Council’s Professional Development Program provides a one-stop-shop for solar installers to get their fix of expert advice on the big design and installation issues facing the industry.
For the first time, attendees who participate in the Professional Development Program and ATRAA Conference will be able to accrue 15 Continuous Professional Development points per session attended. This includes updates from the Clean Energy Regulator as well as what’s happening with Australian Standards and the current endeavours in Accreditation.
System designers will be able to explore issues around switch rating, mounting, battery back-up and the importance of system sizing. Installers will learn about proper cable terminations, voltage rise and a practical example around water ingress in the session ‘Confessions of an installer’.
The Professional Development Day will finish with industry leaders taking to the stage to discuss the good, the bad and the ugly in regards to their projections for the future of Australia’s PV industry.
HEAR FROM WORLD-CLASS SPEAKERS
The conference schedule is structured around 12 session categories, with presentations made by more than 150 industry leaders, including representatives from SunWiz, Canadian Solar, SunPower, the Clean Energy Council, Clenergy, SolarAus, DNV GL Energy, Solar Analytics, Energeia, GreenSync, SMA Solar Technology, Ergon Energy and CitiPower/Powercor.
AGL Chief Executive Officer Andy Vesey and Powershop Chief Executive Officer Ed McManus will go head to head as part of a panel discussion in the Opening Plenary, chaired by the Clean Energy Council’s Chief Executive Kane Thornton.
ON THE EXHIBITION FLOOR
Leading exhibitors confirmed include Canadian Solar Australia, ABB Australia Pty Limited, Jinko Solar, Fronius Australia, Trina Solar, SMA Australia, Huawei Technologies, Enphase Energy, RES Australia, Clenergy, MPower, Victron, Redback, Ingeteam, RF Industries, Solax Power, Schletter, IMEON Energy, AC Solar Warehouse, IPD and Outback Power.
Some highlights on display will be SMA Australia’s recently developed Sunny Boy Storage battery inverter designed for high voltage batteries like the Tesla Powerwall, Enphase Energy’s Enphase Home Energy Solution and ABB’s REACT (Renewable Energy Accumulator and Conversion Technology).
SPECIAL EVENTS
Special events include an informal Grand Networking Event, sponsored by SMA, on the first day for delegates to network and unwind. While the Keynote Plenary and Grand Closing Plenary Debate will look at the high level challenges and opportunities for the sector.
The Clean Energy Council will also host the night of nights for the solar industry, the ATRAA Dinner, the Professional Development Day for solar designers and installers and the Women in Renewables Luncheon which aims to achieve better gender balance at all levels of the renewable energy industry.
