Nicky Ison

Energy Transition Manager, WWF

Nicky Ison is the Energy Transition Manager at WWF-Australia, where she is leading their new campaign to accelerate Australia to become a renewable export powerhouse. Prior to joining WWF, Nicky was a Senior Research Consultant at the Institute for Sustainable Futures at UTS for eight years, she co-founded the Community Power Agency, was a Strategist at Climate Action Network Australia and an energy commentator writing on energy for a range of media outlets. Nicky was the lead author of the Repower Australia Plan a policy blueprint to get to 100% renewables and beyond. In 2014, Nicky was recognised on Westpac and the Australian Financial Review’s 100 Women of Influence List.

Professor Ken Baldwin

Director, ANU Energy Change Institute

Professor Ken Baldwin is the inaugural Director of the Australian National University Energy Change Institute, and Director of the ANU ECI Grand Challenge: Zero-Carbon Energy for the Asia-Pacific. He has held the following appointments: Project Steering Committee for the Australian Energy Technology Assessment, Bureau of Resources and Energy Economics (2011-2013); Socio-Economic Modelling Advisory Committee of the South Australian Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission (2015-2017); Chair, Energy Cluster of the Australia-Indonesia Centre (2015-2018); Chair, Energy Research Institutes Council for Australia (ERICA, 2018-2019); Steering Committee for CSIRO Hydrogen Research, Development and Demonstration Report (2019); ACOLA Steering Committee for the Australian Energy Transition Research Plan (2019-2020).

Professor Baldwin is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, the Institute of Physics (UK), the Optical Society of America and the Australian Institute of Physics.

Matt Walden

Investment Director, ARENA 

Matt Walden is an Investment Director at the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) and specialises in the identification and execution of investment opportunities. Matt is responsible for managing ARENA’s mining and remote power, hydrogen and bioenergy portfolio areas and managed ARENA’s Large Scale Solar Competitive Round. Prior to ARENA, Matt specialised in providing financial, commercial and policy advice in the renewables and general infrastructure sectors. Matt is an ICAA Business Valuation Specialist, a Chartered Accountant and has a post-graduate qualification in Applied Finance.

Andrew Dickson

Business Development Manager, CWP Renewables

Andrew Dickson is the Development Manager of the Asian Renewable Energy Hub (AREH), an export oriented renewable energy project at oil and gas scale. AREH will combine 15+ GW of wind and solar generation to produce hydrogen and ammonia for export. Andrew has 16 years of experience developing wind / solar PV / solar thermal / microgrid / hydrogen / ammonia projects in most Australian states. He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) degree from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Science and Technology Commercialisation degree from the University of Adelaide.
