Renewable and clean energy leaders, from Australia and overseas, have gathered in Melbourne for the All-Energy Australia 2017 conference and exhibition, with early reports suggesting record breaking attendance for the event.
As political leaders continued to wrangle over energy policy, All-Energy Australia 2017 has provided a window into Australia’s evolving energy landscape, its future and new market realities for Australia’s energy system.
Co-located with Waste Expo Australia and taking place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the two day event (11-12 October 2017) kicked off its six-stream conference program with an opening plenary, which featured a ministerial welcome by Victoria’s Energy and Environment Minister, Lily D’Ambrosio.
All-Energy Australia Exhibition director Robby Clark credited the buzz in the building to the breadth of expertise under one roof – with representative from more than 160 leading companies, such as Tesla Energy, KPMG and AGL, sharing exclusive insights and projections on how to tackle the future on the energy sector.
Mr Clark also attributed strong visitor interest to the close to 200 exhibitors, in addition to the launch of new conference streams, start-up companies and technologies. “So far, this year’s attendance has exceeded our expectations, with queues of people lining up to get into the opening plenary, as well as energy storage and solar sessions. Day one also featured a dedicated stream to sustainable transport and electric vehicles, which was a new addition to this year’s event. It was great to see the visitor interest on the state of electric vehicles in Australia and the rollout of electric vehicle infrastructure,” said Mr Clark.
ABB Australia unveiled their latest solar inverter solutions – the 100 and 130 kW string inverter, designed for large scale commercial and industrial PV installations.
Head of global sales and marketing for ABB’s solar inverter business Alireza Mehrtash, said, “We’re committed to developing market leading PV solutions and product platforms, which we are proud to be exhibiting at All-Energy Australia. Flex and Canadian Solar are also among the many companies who are using All-Energy Australia as a platform to officially launch their new products to the Australian market. Flex’s new Power Play home solar battery storage systems attracted regular foot traffic, as did Canadian Solar Australia’s KuPower, KuDymond and KuMax modules.
Throughout All-Energy Australia, delegates are given the opportunity to network with industry specialists and like-minded professionals. The REC-sponsored Grand Networking Event took place yesterday, as well as the Clean Energy Council’s Solar Design and Installation Awards and the Women in Renewables Luncheon, which recognises the outstanding contributions of those across the renewable energy industry.
The excitement continues as day two of All-Energy Australia takes place at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre today. The All-Energy Australia Investor Series also kicks off today, and attendees can expect streams covering topics from project development and energy efficiency, to energy storage and market developments.
