How ocean energy can work with energy storage, offgrid and other renewable applications

4 Oct 2018, 1:00 PM - 2:20 PM

Room 218
English (Australia)

Australia’s marine energy industry is an important emerging contributor to the country’s renewable energy sector.  While the core group of marine energy companies may be perceived as small at present, the industry is demonstrating significant potential to grow quickly toward commercial viability. The key question is how will the marine energy sector integrate with the country’s renewable energy portfolio and effectively contribute to Australia’s energy supply?

The focus of this interactive panel discussion is to identify the potential value of the marine energy sector to Australia, explore the opportunities for the marine energy sector to effectively integrate with other renewables and identify the challenges of providing a new source of electricity supply within an established system.
